MyRnR

Mirror Chatz with MySelvez – A MyRnR series – on YouTube and Instagram

If you can’t get some space and quiet to care for your self at home then get some on MyRnR.space (or send the Gift Card link to your loved one/zzz for a not-so-subtle Xmas present hint-hint 😉

The MyRnR app is now in the hands of the tech gods (Apple & Google) and, once approved, will be available for free download before Xmas from your app place.

This video series features mini downloads or debriefs with myself to myself in my bathroom mirror. I give a bit of a behind-the-scenes insight into the ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’, ‘where’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of my own RnR including self-care practices, both old and new.

These selfie videos are (mostly) recorded in solitude and silence with either sweet nothing in the background or noise and volume of my own choosing – usually music played via Spotify on our loungeroom amp and surround system.

My weekly RnR time, and not being able to get it, is what inspired MyRnR – the hourly rest online booking platform and social enterprise. Thanks to my wonderful counsellor, Emma Holdsworth, I finally prioritised my desperate need for this regular time to myself at home, and our capacity as a family to meet it, so I could – at best – catch some zzz’s and – at least – enjoy some peace.

I am so thankful, and I know I am so lucky, to have this available to me. I am very grateful to my husband for ‘getting it’. I know not everyone has the option of time or space to themselves, or someone to care for their children or dependents, or the disposable income to spend on products or services that I choose to use.

I am aware this is not achievable for everyone. I hope to help bridge this gap. But I do like to ask that mothers, and fatigued others, ask themselves if, just maybe, it could be…

PLEASE ASK YOURSELF (actually maybe we should ask our best friends?):

Could meeting my own rest needs, even sometimes, be achievable for me?

Could getting some regular space and time to myself at home or away be possible for me?

Who could help?

What do I need?

When do I want it?

Where would I like it?

Why?

How often?

We are all time poor and low on energy.

But WHAT IF we put this basic need of ours at the top of our to-do lists?

“We need the dark times to get our life right. I’m gonna be ok down the line,
I’m gonna be ok this time.” – Alison Wonderland, Down The Line. (Also me, most days).
